Ubiquiti Cloudkey in Rackmount displays “No Ethernet Connection”

This problem is with the smaller, non-pro version of the Unifi CloudKey when mounted in a rackmount. The font display has the message “No Ethernet Connection”

The rackmount has a sliding door that is supposed to force the small Cloudkey to the extreme right end, when looking from the rear.

The problem is that the Cloudkey can be inserted with all the pins shifted 1 pin to the left. It still powers on via PoE but there is no ethernet connection. Additionally plugging the Cloudkey in via the rear ethernet port still does not give it connectivity. I suspect the rear port is disabled when the Cloudkey is inserted in / powered by the rackmount.

Solution 1:
Remove the Cloudkey from the rackmount and re-insert it while pushing hard to the right end of the rackmount.

Solution 2:
Remove the Cloudkey from the rackmount and leave it out, attaching the ethernet cable to the rear port on the Cloudkey.
