APC/Schneider Says: Your APC SMT1500C does not have a native local web interface or SNMP. The Ethernet port on “C-series” models is locked to APC’s cloud-based SmartConnect service. For full local web management and SNMP, you must purchase and install an APC Network Management Card (NMC) in the back of the UPS.

They put an RJ45 port on the UPS but it’s not useful, can’t use it to determine when the power is out. and if the power is out you may not have access to the CloudService that it updates. I guess it’s just there to fool potential buyers. If their excuse is security they could have just make the info read only.
