Starlink and VoIP

Have a customer in the boonies that is using VoIP over Starlink.

They are having better results than terrestrial Point-to-point internet but still not excellent, as expected

Interestingly, Starlink does not strip or overwrite the DSCP header. this doesn’t guarantee they HONOR the setting but at least downstream routers have the information.

unfortunately the DSCP tag does get stripped further down the route
