Live Network Map

A live network map has items that turn Red/Amber/Green based on the state of the state of the device being depicted.

The easiest software I have found to do this is PRTG Maps.

Maps, Add Map, Give it a name, optionally select a background image, and I usually select Allow Public Access via URL so i can show it on a NOC display without needing to authenticate. Make sure you are on the Map Designer tab. In the device tree you may need to click the arrow next to Local Probe to see your list of devices. (This requires a monitored device)

The free version of PRTG allows 100 devices and you can pause monitoring of a device to free up a device license.
